**Convergent Evolution**. This describes the repeated, independent evolution of remarkably similar traits, complex organs, body plans, functional solutions, molecular pathways, or behavioral strategies in distantly related lineages subjected to similar selective pressures and often operating under similar intrinsic constraints. [LINK] This might seem to suggest other extraterrestrial "intelligent" life, like humans, except this also makes clear the context-sensitivity of such convergence. And, to date, we have no evidence that similar conidtions to ours on earth exist anywhere else, at least not in the present.
