(Imperfectly) Defining Reality: Our Human Quest to Construct Reality from Science Science has established a counterproductive imperative to "define" any/everything (e.g. absolute zero vs. zero-point energy, constant-yet-relative speed of light) before we actually understand how the universe works. Yes, all models are wrong, but we enshrine ours like theology.
