Are some languages more efficient with communication than others is it the case that we have this um doublespeak in western language that you know includes things like sarcasm means that actually don't serve an informational purpose they serve very little in terms of communication other than just about words and fill space. Azim in the polland learning a little bit about nepali I see how direct it is almost harsh to a westerner give me this but it is a very direct it expresses the need without needing politeness of course we are we all try to be civilised humans so why do we need to say please and thank you. As a matter of fact I am told that um in the poly it is not very common to say thank you perhaps it is assumed so too I listen to these crows communicate with each other and it's very clear that when one is speaking it listens and then you hear another response it's a call and response and then you can tell the pattern of communication changes I certainly don't know crow language very well I rana pauly but it tells you alot because you can abstract that I don't need to know what the content is. I can actually infer a lot just by its pattern and tone.
The interesting thing to me is this idea of call and response that the communication implies bidirectional the when you say something or you communicate you expect something in return and yet what I am finding with my writing and so many things is that the barriers we put up in virtual communication means I don't know when I call what the responses I don't really know who has read my linked in posts or read my website yes I have some rudimentary analytics and metrics. But that doesn't actually tell me that s not the same content or the same quality of communication it's not a response and that is very that is a key problem I see with western. Communication with with these with these abstractions is there is no response it's the call but how do we know if there is a response at all? You know when a cow I just heard a cow moo ing that seems to perhaps got lost and it was calling expecting a response and was no there was no response. So then it seemed to become a little more strained be a little more um almost sounded stressed to me like a little more earnest when it's next call. Expecting to hear response and those low tones that they admit can be heard from quite some distance.
So let s apply that the human communication now especially its seeming broadcast nature social media has become all about broadcasting and I'm about to im about to get off social media entirely because it's not serving me any useful purpose. It's not enabling the kind of reciprocation or reciprocal communication that I put out and so there is where I say OK, well I'm going to try something different and broadcast on my website and when somebody is ready to receive that then they can do a search or ask AI and if I am well positioned that Information will come up because human communication has become so disjointed in that way there is no more response. It's just a call.
In animals a call certainly from a distance an audible call from a distance seems to universally me pay attention to me and there are other kinds of communication are like visual. The sensory like touch thinking about cats in particular or how dogs rub up against uh other dogs and humans smell to some extent you know dogs sniff each other. But the point is communication is much more in the way of efficient and transactional it means pay attention to me and then once I have that line of communication, let s in for what it's needed am I hungry do I wanna do I want to sleep find out where you are do I need something else? But that has gotten so abstracted in humans sometimes it's really difficult to know what the point of communication is at all we have so many different forms and so many different kinds which I guess is that could be considered higher level level Intelligence or consciousness and that s something I probably should explore in my work on on these are states of Information but also seems to introduce its own inefficiencies are you telling me something and are you serious or sarcastic that right there means are really I I I want to say wrong but like what's the point?
