Why is lemmy slash the fediverse Google search able but my mastodon posts or not I want to get in I want to dive into that because that search ability is key to everything from sco now and building my own brand stuff that can show up in a search most people aren't nobody's using mastodon except in certain scientific circles so what I need is a broad spectrum here and I want to know what platforms are gonna let me do it I am done with linkedin it's another echo chamber Lincoln is no different. Then uh uh than Twitter it's about it's a low bar to entry that anybody can use to spout their own bullshit and plenty of marketers and salespeople are posting all kinds of garbage on their im done with linkedin. But I am intrigued that I have posted a little bit on lemmy in in one of their one of their fetty verse things and it shows up on Google search so that s what I want to leverage. Let's figure out how do I do more of that because even mastodon I'm just not getting much traffic and discord they are all private so I want things that are going to show up on a public search because those are the things that are going to get indexed by AI. So that brings me to another interesting point about better or worse pariz comparisons you know they are just different not better or worse unless you're talking about some kind of ordinal comparison and then we still need to define our terms very socratic define your terms and then we can have a conversation by contextualizing this so in in one state in one plane, paradise comparisons are sometimes problematic because we're comparing apples and oranges but then we talk about the sequential iterations and iterative comparisons get better even if in a macroscopic way it might not always seem that way im sorry they get better in a macroscopic to microscopic a small n n equals one way they don't. Just like the stock market there is a lot of random fluctuations if you just look at anyone particular data point and that's why statistics is helpful it can tell us that trajectory so I I just I just realised that this thought about consciousness and evolution frequently defaults into what's called the ecological fallacy, which is looking at a microscopic thing and trying to make macroscopic inferences about it and so there there is why we have different levels of measurement right we have a qualitative, which would be considered um nominal and then we have ordinal and then interval ratio will get to that kind of a different thing im not sure that s really there is where we fall into traps about thyme etc we think these things are intervals or that they have a defined linear start and finish when they don't. #project #idea #explore #seo
